Experiential Learning Process
Experiential learning is a type of learning that occurs through direct experience or hands-on activities. It is a process of learning through experience, reflection, and critical analysis. This approach to learning emphasises the importance of the learner’s active involvement in the learning process and emphasises the connection between personal experience and the acquisition of knowledge.
At FFGS we strongly believe in the experiential learning process, where children learn by doing. FFGS creates an environment by engaging children in hands-on experiences and entourage reflection. This way, they are better able to connect theories and knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world situations.
When students participate in experiential education opportunities, they gain:
- A better understanding of course material
- A broader view of the world and an appreciation of community
- Insight into their own skills, interests, passions, and values
- Opportunities to collaborate with diverse organisations and people
- Positive professional practices and skill sets
- The gratification of assisting in meeting community needs
- Self-confidence and leadership skills
